My name is Jake, and I am an aspiring concept artist/illustrator.
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve spent the majority of my free time producing art. Since my youth, I have always been an avid daydreamer with a wild imagination. The fantastical and the unreal have inspired me from a very young age, and my greatest passion is to present the creatures, characters and places that have always filled my mind in a way that others can visualize.
I have taken many steps to becoming a better artist, which include multiple college courses for drawing and painting, design, and digital illustration. I’ve also completed classes focused on more in depth topics like character design and visual storytelling, as well as concept art. While all of my courses provided valuable learning experiences, I was particularly fond of those that pertained to illustration and concept art. These classes allowed me to portray my ideas at the level of detail I wanted.
Beyond traditional mediums, I have worked with many computer programs throughout my art career. I’ve completed multiple projects in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I’ve made great progress in learning to use Maya. My favorite software to use for art is Procreate for the iPad pro, which offers much of the same tools as photoshop but with a distinct focus on digital painting.
My dream job is to work as an illustrator or concept artist, either for games, film, or other avenues. To use my artistic abilities, and cooperate with other talented people in order to bring the imaginary to life has been an aspiration of mine since I was a child. I feel that the need to create is in my blood, and any opportunity to fully flex my creative muscles would be my ideal profession.
